ode to colors of summer

Think blue skies, artistic flair, youth, rebellious weather, organic eats, and even sand... BERLIN.

Genau, Berlin. Lovely time spent with dear friends. Since this marked my 2nd time in the city, I basically sought to enjoy my time as a local and avoid any of the touristic scenes. Instead, I biked around the city, sat on the grass, ate local organic yogurt ice cream, indulged in street art, and walked carefree... Berlin, Ich danke dir fur alles!

Summer Greets

Things have been hectic, in a good way, no excuse for not posting and keeping the blog up to date...
Hope to re-energize my virtual abode and share some updates with you!

What's my story lately? Working, traveling, meeting interesting people, and engaging in some intellectual exchanges. Oh, and I almost forgot... enjoying sunshine when possible and lavishly indulging in good eats-- major weakness!

Happy Saturday ;)

Summer, Wake with Me

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Summer is synonymous of sunshine, sweet melodies, laziness, and moments to remember.

Lately, it has been raining nonstop... so with this song, I call forth summer, wake with me!

Patbingsu...

Summer desserts are the best! One of my all time favorites is a Korean ice cream masterpiece called Patbingsu. It´s a wild, creative dish that just makes me happy, and to say the word is delightful... PATBINGSU! :) hehe

Korean summers are hot, humid, rainy, and HOT! It´s only natural that something as sweet and delicious as patbingsu is considered a summer snack must. So why so much love for this snack? Let me break it down for you:

Main Ingredients:
  • shaved ice (not crushed, important because it adds to the texture)
  • red beans (basically boiled red beans cooked with sugar)
  • milk
  • fruit (no limitations, it´s all game)
  • Optional: scoop of ice cream

Although it may look like the ingredients don´t go well together (beans and ice cream combo?!?! really?), I tell you it just works. Aside from the ingredients, the way the dessert is put together is quite lovely.

Here are some samples of the ones I´ve personally eaten, haha!

Green Tea Ice Cream with Red Bean

Fruitilicious, strawberry, grapes, & banana

If you have the chance to give this treat a try, I recommend it. :)

Happy Week Ahead!
