Happy 2012!

Wishing you a year full of dreams + actions, joy + fun, laughter + hugs, friends + love!

May 2012 offer you the opportunity to be absolutely fabulous in every way possible.

Here is a tip to keep in mind throughout the year:

Let's make it a happy 2012 year!

By the way, I found this treasure in my last trip to Seoul @ the Kyobo Book Center,
it keeps me smiling. Korea has amazing design, construction, and creativity for all paper goods (agendas, calendars, personal notebook, notebook, etc).

Keep the Lights On

El amor es lo único que siempre nos salvará.

Translated into english: Love is the only thing which will always save us.

Hope you had a magical weekend with your loved ones.

Happy Holidays!

Chocolate a la Mode

Technically speaking, there are only 4 major food groups. Let´s review:

1) Milk Chocolate
2) Dark Chocolate
3) White Chocolate
4) Chocolate truffles

If only, right? Maybe we should reconsider the current food pyramid and swap for the above!?! Okay, I'm dreaming in chocolate, but that's nothing new. Haha!

So instead, I propose implementing chocolate fashion. It's been done before, but see what was crafted in Shanghai, China (yes, it covered all my major food groups).

Innovation and design at its best form of nutrition. Could you ask for anything else? Didn't think so :)
Just imagine, get a little hungry, tug at your dress and violaaaa... a delicious snack! Not sure how the refill part of this scheme would work... but minor details to address with the designers.

5 Designers worked on these art pieces. Taiwan-native Kang Yen-Ling, Hsu Feng-Yu, Lin Guodong, Shanghai-based Helen Lee, and Beijing-born Tan Siyuan.

The base of the designs are fabric, but the accessories are all chocolate. YUMMY!

Wishing you an amazing week ahead  ♥

Working Together, Saving Tomorrow Today

... is the theme for the United Nations climate conference in Durban, South Africa which ended today, Sunday, December 11. Ironically, on Saturday night, a 6.5 - magnitude earthquake impacted Mexico's  western Guerrero state, making buildings tremble. Fear + panic spread throughout the region.

In Canada, on December 8, tourists witnessed a male polar bear eating a cub, an incident linked to a theory of cannibalism caused by climate change. Climate change is melting the bear's Arctic hunting grounds forcing then to survive on land for longer. This, therefore, leads the starving animals to turn on their own for food.

2011 experienced extreme weather... flooding, heat waves, wildfire, and droughts. Fact: extreme weather is a result of climate change.

Are we willing to continue on this path of self destruction? It's time to put actions into words. If the intention is to save tomorrow, by all means take action today-- take this commitment to heart and do what is right! In case you weren't aware, doing what is right takes more courage than doing wrong. As a society that inhabits this planet, we require a sense of urgency and immediate accountability for actions (from corporate polluters to government). It's not the people who require protection, it is the planet who is beckoning for our attention and protection. We no longer take the time to appreciate natures wonders nor to respect the ground we walk on.

The reality is this: temperatures continue to rise... business as usual.

Here is the proof :) sending some warm sunshine to all who are starting to feel the chilly weather. Actually, I would love some winter. Happy December!
